We show up-to-date photos of our homes and surroundings for reasons of transparency, to be able to attract people with similar lifestyles or to find people whose lifestyle we would like to get to know. We look forward to sharing our lifestyles. Members can search for a location and shared interests and activities, get in touch, make a new friend or agree to travel together or agree to host each other in their homes. If you host each other you will explore the world like a local and in company and save on hotel expenses.

Simultaneous home exchange, Hospitality exchange or Hosting:
You can decide to swap homes or host club members. As a host you take pride in your home and location and are happy to share your knowledge by hosting a new friend. Together you re-discover the place you call home. As a guest you are interested in learning and discovering a new place with the help of a local friend and maybe make a friend for life. No additional fees apply. Should any member request you to pay a fee, please contact us immediatly.

Travelling together:
After connecting with a potential travel partner make sure to message each other and talk over the phone until you feel you know each other better. A next step is to use skype, whatsapp or zoom with a camera to see each other and show your homes to each other in case of hospitality exchange or home exchanges. Get yourself well acquainted and discuss your travel plans together.

The regular membership price is USD 249/year, the cost of just one night in a hotel, unlocking unlimited access to home exchanges throughout the year and a world of connections and experiences. No other charges are incurred to use this website, make new friends or travel together. 

Members host each other for free, they do not charge each other (there is no cost for staying in someone's guest room), each person only pays for their own travel or food expenses. If you decide to travel together, everyone pays for their own accommodation, food and travel expenses.

Membership and User obligations:

1. To register as a member you have to provide correct, up-to-date information about yourself, as well as your email address, mobile phone number, and photos of yourself and your home, register a valid credit card and pay the yearly membership fee.

2. 55plusExplorers is a community for adults aged 55+ who want to connect with like-minded people and explore home exchange opportunities across the USA.

3. By signing up to 55plusExplorers the User accepts the General Terms and Conditions, Community Guidelines, Privacy Policy and Legal Notice.

4. You agree that it is your sole responsibility to verify that you have insurance coverage.

5. You agree that you will at all times respect all applicable laws.

6. It is the User's responsibility to proof that his identity is real by providing correct data and photos, mobile phone number and a recent utility bill (the utility bill is not visible to any other user) in the Personal Profile area of your account on this website. All Users agree to make the following data available to other registered 55plusExplorers club members: User's first name, location, name of senior living community, gender, photos provided, interests, languages, where do you want to travel to, and the free text fields: Personal Motto and Personal Description that the User can fill in. Only by accepting and providing the above mentioned data to the platform will the user be considered for a potential membership. Any other personal data is not made available to other Users by the platform.

7. You agree that your membership is for your own personal use; you will not transfer your account to any other person or entity, you won't allow anyone else to access the website through your membership for their use. You will not pass-on, refer or sell any member profiles to any other person.

8. You agree that you will not include specific details, websites, surnames or commercial names in your profile that would enable anyone to identify or contact you outside of the site.

9. You agree that you will not send any unsolicited messages to other Members, that direct or indirect spam or any other mass e-mailing techniques are prohibited. Any violation of this paragraph shall subject the violator to severe penalties including a minimum of USD500 per violation and you shall indemnify and hold the 55plusExplorers platform harmless from and against any and all costs and damages incurred by the platform as a result of such violation.

10. You agree that you will not use this site for commercial or business purposes, that you will not send any advertising to other Members meant to sell or promote products, services, or memberships, nor any messages promoting political, philosophical, religious, affinity or charity interests.

11. In case you agree to a hospitality exchange with another member, where one member hosts the other member in their own home, you agree that such an exchange does not imply any monetary exchange, it is a non-commercial transaction.

12. In case you make plans to travel with another member you agree that you will not ask any other member for money in respect to any travel plans you make together. Each person is responsible to cover their own expenses and travel costs. You also agree to not have any monetary personal gain from suggesting a trip to another member.

13. You will honor any and all obligations you make to other members, for instance travel plans together, and use best efforts to mitigate any loss caused by your failure to do so.

14. 55plusExplorers reserves the right to verify the data provided by the User and can request further proof of the User's identity.

15. 55plusExplorers reserves the right to reject, delete and block a User without warning from accessing the website if the User does not provide the above mentioned data or does not comply to these Terms and Conditions.
